“TIMELESS SERIES”

A body of film photographs by David López exploring the enduring spirit of a timeless world.

Some of the earliest images I remember are not photographs, but scenes from films.

Growing up in Spain during the 1980s and 1990s, I became fascinated by American cinema. It wasn’t just the stories that stayed with me, but the atmosphere—the endless roads, forgotten motels, classic cars, quiet towns, the quality of light, the grain, and the feeling that every frame belonged to a world existing just outside of time.

Years later, after moving to the United States and working almost exclusively with film, I realized something I had never consciously intended.

I didn’t set out to make cinematic photographs. I simply realized, years later, that cinema had taught me how to see.

Today, Timeless Series is the clearest expression of that way of seeing—a collection of film photographs exploring places, objects, and moments that feel suspended outside of time.
